Port Elgin Shoppers Night is returning this year with an extended format.
The Port Elgin BIA says Shoppers Night will run over the course of three days — beginning Thursday, Nov. 26 — from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each evening.
The change in format is to help mitigate the risk of overcrowding in stores.
“We think extending Shoppers Night is the best way to keep everyone safe and still give our small businesses the opportunity to reach as many customers as possible,” says BIA Chair Addison Ziegler in a release.
The Port Elgin BIA says its investing thousands for new decorations and transforming Coulter Parkette into a Christmas destination.
However, the annual tree lighting ceremony will not be a public event this year due to Covid restrictions.
The BIA says it will be recorded and released on social media channels for people to view.
