The Town of Saugeen Shores is planning to open up its recreational facilities over the next month.
A release notes following the province making the move into Step Three of the reopening roadmap on July 16, the town will start to expand its in-person services and indoor recreation.
First up, the Centennial Pool in Port Elgin will open up for swimming on July 26.
The pool schedule and protocols will be posted on the municipal website along with registration for swimming lessons.
Following that, The Plex in Port Elgin will resume ice rentals as of Aug. 21. Bookings for indoor halls and meeting spaces will be available on Aug. 23.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau says as they open up in Step Three, it’s encouraging to see services return.
“We know that there’s still work to do in Grey Bruce to beat Covid-19, and we will by following public health advice and getting vaccinated,” says Charbonneau.
