Bruce County Paramedic Services is receiving a donation of 41 pediatric support bags to comfort patients while being transported by ambulance.
The support bags were donated by the Bruce County District Women’s Institute Branches and the Kincardine Sunset Quilters. Each bag contains a knitted or quilted blanket, teddy bear, and a children’s book.
The county says the bags have been distributed to paramedic service stations across Bruce County and will be available in the vehicles for pediatric-related calls.
This donation is in addition to the 32 fidget muff and quilt donations given in March to support both Alzheimer’s and dementia patients attended to by Bruce County Paramedic Services.
Paramedic services Deputy Chief Ray Lux says, “Bruce County Paramedic Services is honoured that the Women’s Institute across Bruce County once again thought of us and our pediatric patients when creating these wonderful and helpful comfort items.”
Warden Janice Jackson adds this donation supports local communities and residents who receive care from Bruce County paramedics.
