A 46 home development is moving through the public comment stage of the approval process in Sauble Beach.
It would be called Sauble Falls Estates and would be located just south of the Amabel Sauble Community School at 453 Sauble Falls Parkway.
Bruce County Senior Planner Daniel Kingsbury says the proposal is for single detached homes.
He says next steps in the process include assessing the feedback the County has received from the public and agencies on the draft plan subdivision application and notes the County is still waiting for comments from a few agencies.
He says the County has received a number of comments from the community about the potential loss of trees. He says the County has received comments from the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority which reviews plans for their environmental impacts.
“They’ve requested a tree retention plan that would retain 40 per cent of the trees on the site,” says Kingsbury.
He says rather than taking a clear-cutting approach, what’s being proposed is “a little more surgical in nature to retain some of those trees.”
He says County staff anticipate bringing the application back to Council for a decision later this fall.
The Public can still provide comments if they would like by emailing Bruce County’s Planning Dept at BCPLWI@brucecounty.on.ca
