A big emergency exercise is set to take place at Bruce Power with about 300 employees and another 1,000 provincial and municipal participants.
The nuclear operator is collaborating with federal, provincial and municipal agencies for the ‘Huron Endeavour’ emergency exercise
Bruce Power will test its emergency response capabilities during a three-day exercise from October 4th to 6th.
It says in a release, it will do this with the participation of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Health Canada, Ontario’s Provincial Emergency Operations Centre and the communities of Kincardine and Saugeen Shores, will test its Emergency Response Organization by simulating an on-site emergency scenario.
Huron Endeavour is the fourth installment of these large scale exercises. Bruce Power also participated in emergency exercises named Huron Resilience in 2019, Huron Resolve in 2016, and Huron Challenge in 2012.
