Community Foundation Grey Bruce and the United Way of Bruce Grey will be distributing funding announced by the federal government to local groups.
The Government of Canada announced support to local charities, non-profit groups, and Indigenous governing bodies.
On November 22, the minister of Families, Children, and Social Development, Karina Gould, announced that Community Foundations of Canada, the Canadian Red Cross, and the United Way had been selected to distribute funding to help community groups adapt and modernize, so they can support pandemic recovery in communities across the country.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, charities, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous Governing Bodies have struggled with increased demand for services and reduced revenues, along with reduced charitable donations because of the increase in the cost of living.
The funding is meant to help them with using digital tools as part of adapting and modernizing operations.
A total of $400 million will be distributed to organizations across Canada.
