South Bruce OPP say a man from Niagara region is facing a number of charges after downtown Kincardine businesses were damaged.
Police say on June 6 at 4:06 a.m., officers received a report of an individual breaking windows along Queen Street in Kincardine.
When officers responded to the area, police say they found the store front glass had been broken on a number of businesses.
As a result, police say the 39-year-old accused was charged with 11 counts of mischief under $5,000.
The accused will be appearing in court in Walkerton to answer the charges.
Police are requesting anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
In a separate release, the Municipality of Kincardine says the closure of some businesses and sections of Queen Street between Lambton Street and Harbour Street is needed for clean-up, with crews on scene to assist.
Kincardine Community Economic Development Officer Cherie Leslie says, “to say we were shocked and saddened by the news this morning is an understatement.”
