A Mildmay couple has won $100,000 in the lottery.
A release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Mary and Terry Borth matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the May 30th Lotto Max draw to win.
Mary, 58 and Terry, 56 are regular lottery players.
“I’ve been saying that I was going to win for 30 years,” shared Mary in a statement while collecting the prize, adding, “It turns out I was right!”
Terry says he checked the winning numbers on OLG.ca after work one day and discovered the win.
“Mary heard me shouting from the office,” says Terry, adding, the two of them screamed with delight. “I was teary-eyed and full of joy,” he says.
The Borths plan to use the money to help their family, spoil their dogs, manage their finances, complete some home renovations, donate to local charities and save for their future. They may also take a trip to Jamaica.
They say, “Most of all, we hope to share the win.”
The OLG says Encore can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Elora Street in Mildmay.
