South Bruce OPP say a 66-year-old man is dead after being pulled from the waters of Lake Huron and a 7-year-old boy is expected to recover.
Police say on Aug. 12 at 11:17 a.m., OPP received a report of an unresponsive person in Lake Huron in Kincardine.
The OPP marine unit, Kincardine Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic Services arrived on the scene of both the north and south pier of Station Beach.
Police say community members pulled the boy from the water and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
OPP say the unresponsive man emergency responders pulled from the water received life saving efforts before he was brought to a local hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
Police say this incident is considered non-suspicious in nature and the identities of the involved are being withheld out of respect for the family.
Kincardine Director of Community Services Jayne Jagelewski says the south pier will continue to be closed for the remainder of the weekend.
