Kincardine council will be holding an all-day budget meeting on Monday.
Council has not had any pre-emptive budget discussions and will be holding their special budget meeting from 9-2:30 and reconvene from 3:30-6.
Council will be hearing from the municipality’s financial services team, which will present a 92-page presentation regarding the operating and capital budget for this year.
In the report, had staff taken the same approach as last year, the tax rate increase would have ballooned by 14%.
Management then went back through their spending and was able to reduce the tax rate increase to 7%.
