South Bruce Peninsula has received the results of its latest water system inspection results.
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks annual Inspection Reports showed 100 per cent compliance in all the Town’s water systems.
A town staff report says they were non-scheduled inspections of the Amabel-Sauble system, Foreman system, Huron Woods system, Oliphant system and Wiarton system.
Ministry inspectors found there were no non-compliance issues and no recommendations or best practice issues, scoring each system at 100 per cent.
A staff report says, “It should be noted that having 100 per cent compliance is a significant accomplishment and demonstrates the efforts by council, staff, and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) to ensure that users of our water systems are receiving safe drinking water.”
Deputy Mayor Caleb Hull congratulated staff at council’s regular meeting February 20th, saying council recognizes the achievement, adding, it, “Brings confidence to the water system users that they’re receiving safe drinking water.”
