A 41-year-old Owen Sound woman of no fixed address has been charged after reportedly stealing a Pride banner.
It’s not clear why the banner was stolen. Police did not say what the woman’s motivation was.
She has been charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with her probation.
Police say on Saturday, a citizen reportedly noticed her taking the Pride banner from Georgian Shores United Church, located in the 900 block of 4th Avenue East in Owen Sound.
Police say the citizen took photos of the woman as she allegedly tried to conceal the banner in her bag.
The citizen notified the church, which then notified police on Monday.
According to City police, the same woman had been arrested Saturday for several other unrelated thefts.
