Bruce County is bringing back its household hazardous waste collection events starting this spring.
These events encourage people to dispose of their household hazardous waste materials in safe and environmentally friendly manner.
Some of the items which people can get rid of include paints, propane tanks, used oil and oil filters, batteries and antifreeze, and household cleaners. A full list can be found on the Bruce County website here.
Items including commercial, industrial and agricultural waste, PCB materials, ammunition and flares will not be accepted.
People can attend the household hazardous waste collection events at:
-Southampton – 429 Peel Street on May 3 and Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
-Kincardine – 140 Valentine Avenue on May 10 and July 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
-Walkerton – 94 Bruce Road 2 on May 31 and Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
-Lion’s Head – 1252 West Road on July 5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Paisley – 242 Canrobert Street on June 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Wiarton – 441048 Elm Street on July 26 from 8 a.m. 1 p.m.
-Mildmay -169 Bruce Road 3 on Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Tobermory – 71 McArthur Road on Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Lucknow – 545 Ludgard Street on Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Sauble Beach – 413 Municipal Road on Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
