Saugeen Shores police, Grey Bruce OPP, Owen Sound, Hanover and West Grey police as well as members of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters Canadian Armed Forces Reserve Regiment attended the funeral of OPP constable Greg Pierzchala in Barrie yesterday.
Pierzchala was shot and killed by the occupants of a car that was in a ditch near Hagersville in late December.
The man and woman in the vehicle –25 year old Randall McKenzie and 30 year old Brandi Stewart-Sperry, have been charged with first degree murder.
Pierzchala was 28 years old and had been with the OPP for about a year. Before policing, he had been a reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces’ Grey and Simcoe Foresters in Barrie.
