Grey Bruce OPP is requesting security footage following a break and enter in Saugeen First Nation.
Police say on Jan. 2, officers responded to a break and enter at a seasonal home on Bruce Road 13.
OPP say the police who attended the scene were advised sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 2, the garage on the property was entered and the following items were stolen:
-Stihl chainsaw 16′
-Stihl chainsaw 20′
-Stihl gas leaf blower
-Dewalt skill saw
-Dewalt drill
-Dewalt flashlight
Police encourage seasonal property owners to have someone check their property daily during the off seasons to make sure everything is secure.
“This tried and tested method is the best deterrent against crime. The OPP encourage everyone to install security cameras and to register them with the CAMSafe program,” says OPP in a release.
Police are appealing to people living in and around cottages to report all suspicious activity to police when it happens.
Anyone with security footage of individuals in the area between Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 on Bruce Road 13 between Pashwood Drive and Ah Sineese Crescent are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
