The Battle of the Badges Charity Hockey game is set to go in Walkerton on Family Day.
South Bruce OPP will face off against Walkerton Firefighters to raise money for the Walkerton Hospital Foundation.
Constable Kevin Martin says, “If you’ve got nothing else to do, it’s a day where there’s no school, so why not come by the Walkerton Community Centre? There’s public skating before the battle of the badges and the Capitals and Barons are playing after.”
Martin says, “If you take in our game, any proceeds made by the Battle of the Badges goes to the Walkerton Hospital Foundation. I can’t think of a better cause to support.”
The hockey game will be held at the Walkerton Community Centre at noon on Monday, February 19th. Public skating is available from 10 to 11:50.
The Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Walkerton Capitals host the Hanover Barons at 2 p.m.
There will be a 50/50 draw as well as a chuck-a-puck contest. Admission is by donation.
