Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is hosting an event that celebrates the Monarch butterfly.
On Tuesday, July 16 from 11-1, the museum will be hosting a special reading of Memengwaa, The Monarch Butterfly, by local Saugeen First Nation Author Dorothy Ladd.
Guests will also be invited to make their own Monarch butterfly craft during the event.
Southampton Horticultural Society will also be there to share tips and tricks to support the local Monarch population.
There will also be a screening of the 2012 documentary “Flight of the Butterflies” which shares the journey that the species has to take during the migration from Canada to Mexico.
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required for this event. Museum members can attend for free, and general admission applies.
On Wednesday, July 17, BCM&CC will be holding its regularly scheduled “Wonderful Wildlife” Show from 11-12 pm, and will feature Tim Jeffries, who is known as the rockstar of dinosaur expertise.
