If you haven’t already made reservations for Bruce Peninsula National Park this upcoming Civic Holiday long weekend, you might want to make other plans.
The park’s visitor experience manager Sean Skinkle says all parking and campsite reservations for the long weekend are already full, and that’s the only way to access The Grotto, Halfway Log Dump and Cyprus Lake trails.
“And those are full,” Skinkle says. “There are first-come, first-serve parking lots at the visitor’s centre and Singing Sands, which are wonderful and accessible locations. But they do fill up first thing in the morning. And they do not provide access to other locations like The Grotto.”
“Once parking lots are full, there’s no other access to the national park,” Skinkle continues.
He says more than 2,000 vehicles were turned away over the Canada Day long weekend at Bruce Peninsula National Park because parking had already filled up.
“Unless you do have a reservation, visitors travelling to Bruce Peninsula National Park this August long weekend will be disappointed,” Skinkle adds. “And we do want to avoid that and ensure people have a safe and enjoyable visit.”
He says staff look forward to welcoming those with reservations to Bruce Peninsula National Park this weekend and adds the visitors’ safety page is a great resource.
