The Province has pledged to bring free dental care right to low-income Seniors’ doorsteps.
Today Premier Doug Ford said dental care is the number one issue he hears about on his current Province-wide trip.
Ford says over 100,000 low-income seniors will soon be able to receive care in a dental clinic, not a hospital, and benefit from routine checkups and preventative treatment.
“So our Seniors will have access to modern clinics, equipped with the latest technology and tools,” said Ford. “My friends, we will always look after our Seniors. They deserve nothing less than to live with dignity and respect.”
Many low-income seniors don’t have access to dental insurance.
The second phase of the Ontario Seniors Dental Program will enable 78 dental infrastructure programs and create 8 more dental care mobile units.
We are delivering on our promise and expanding access to the Ontario Seniors Dental Program by investing $25M to build 78 new clinics. Free routine dental care for eligible seniors will help reduce unnecessary hospital trips and prevent chronic disease. https://t.co/lWLB1LgLKs pic.twitter.com/bRzyuPLsYD
