Today is first day of the Vaccine Passport program in Ontario.
If you want to engage in any non-essential activities like going to movies, eating at restaurants or even seeing an Attack game, you’ll need to show proof of vaccination.
Next month, Ontario will introduce a QR code passport but until then you’ll have to carry a copy of your vaccine receipt either on your phone or on paper.
There are a few ways to get your passport printed, Ontario Public Libraries will help you out – or, you can go to https://covid-19.ontario.ca/proof-covid-19-vaccination and save it to your phone or print it at home yourself.
If you’re an iPhone user, you can add it to the Wallet App. JustĀ go to grassroots.vaccine-ontario.ca (make sure you’re using Safari as your browser) to easily add your vaccine record to your wallet.
The new tool was created by the team of Ontario volunteers made up of software engineers, healthcare workers, students and more, is helping residents add their proof of vaccination to their iPhone Apple Wallets in a few simple steps. It’s designed to be an easy solution until October 22nd when the new QR code will come into effect.
Don’t worry Android users – they are working on a solution for you too!
Hopefully this will help make your life a little easier as Ontario navigates through the 4th wave!
And PLEASE remember to be PATIENT AND KIND with staff at businesses who have to comply with the new rules!
Still need your shot?
